The Price of Your High-Value Gift

Everyone appreciates the aesthetics of a gift, but do they understand the price of its high value?

You are high value, far more above any beautiful Christian Louboutin pump… and they are beautiful! Even its creator understands the price of a high-value item, so much so that the sticker label warns you to be prepared before stepping into its luxury.

It costs something to walk in the gift given to you. Though innate, others only see the surface and all its beauty on the outside. But when you slip your feet into the calling to use your gift, you must be prepared to deal with the scuffs that come with the journey down that concrete path. Not all runways have smooth surfaces for you to take still frames in from the comfort of a single position. If your soles stay red, you ain’t going nowhere. If you want to bring your gift into the world and to those anticipating to experience all that comes with it, you have to step out and keep moving. Moving that is, in His timing.

A few of my scuffs

For so long, I wanted to treasure my gift, keeping it safe inside a pretty box. It wasn’t until the Lord began to tug on my heart and open my eyes to see that only I was keeping it contained for my own benefit in fear. What good is that? At a young age, He spoke to me about my gift and how it would be used. Little did I know, there were designated routes for me to take as a learner far before I could lead. And so here was this path, rough, sometimes feeling like it went backwards. Child, this path was ALOT. I guess I had to learn a few lessons up a spiral loop before my course would begin to ascend onto a more narrow and steep path.

Opposition plants you deeper

Ever notice how new heels require you to break into them? Can’t we go deeper with this? Nobody wants to go viral tiptoeing to their fall on a slippery path. It’s always the wear and tear that grips more securely to the ground. And so it is when we trust the process of walking in our gifting. There will always be opposition, small distractions that want to deceive you into thinking everything has to be pretty all of the time. Nope. You will find that the women who wore it best, all had scuffs from their journey. Be inspired to stay your course and not be derailed by the price of your high-value gifting.

Another lesson from an item in my closet… invite Him in, mama. He will speak to you in the most intimate and wildest ways. His voice is gentle. Ask him what gift needs to be revealed. And then, use it on the path he designed just for you. No one said the journey would be easy, but it is so rewarding. We are to honor Him with our gifts. Remove the sticker and stay the course. Someone needs you. He prepared you with the gift to bless others.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
